CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 10TH DECEMBER 2025
Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,529 cattle consisting of 1,358 Prime Cattle & 1,138 Store Cattle. The Prime cattle consisted of 452 Bullocks, 266 Heifers, 509 Cows and 131 Bulls. The Store Cattle consisted of 582 Steers, 544 Heifers & 12 Cows & Calves.
Cattle comprised of a mixed quality yarding showing signs of a slowing season with isolated pens of heavy well-finished Bullocks, a sample of Prime/Feeder type Heifers and a reduced yarding of only 509 Cows. A reduced buying panel was present due to processors closing within the coming days which resulted in the market easing across all categories. The yarding was drawn from Mount Isa, Richmond, Hughenden, Julia Creek, Georgetown, Mount Garnet and Ingham, as well as local and coastal areas.
Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted 25¢ easier, Heifers were 5¢ easier Cows were 5¢ easier, and Bulls were 10¢ easier on last week’s rates.

- Bullocks Topped at 386.2¢/kg for a pen of Heavy Bullocks sold on A/c LW & NL Miller that weighed 513kg to return to $1,980 per head.
- Best priced Trade Heifers were presented on A/c LW & NL Miller that sold for 372¢/kg and weighed 449kg return to $1,670 per head.
- The top pen of cows were sold by A/c Stringer Family Trust, “Charelle”, Charters Towers for 370.2¢/kg, weighing 585kg to return $2,167 per head.
- Bulls sold on A/c Lawrie Grazing Trust, “Powlathanga”, Charters Towers topped at 358.2¢/kg and weighed 730kg to return $2,615 per head.

- A pen of 30 Steers on A/c Almora Pastoral, sold for 432¢/kg, to weigh 351kg and return $1,517 per head.
- A good run of 137 Heifers on A/c Camden Park made 394¢/kg, weighing 360kg and returned an average of $1,418 per head.
- 16 x 16 Cows and Calves sold by various vendors returned between $500 – $1,550 per unit
