ROMA PRIME SALE SUMMARY REPORT

A total yarding of 882 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 310c/kg and averaged 282c/kg, while steers in the 400-550kg sold to 307c/kg, averaging 283c/kg.
Yorkaringa Farming Trust, Yorkaringa, Wallumbilla sold Droughtmaster steers to 310c/kg, reaching a top of $1,784 to average $1,593.
John E York, Taunton, Roma sold Simmental cross steers to 295c/kg, reaching a top of $1,964 to average $1,787.
Barry York, Waratah, Roma sold Santa cross steers to 292c/kg, reaching a top of $1,742 to average $1,742.
Heifers over 450kg made to 276c/kg and averaged 258c/kg, heifers in the 350-450kg sold to 252c/kg, averaging 238c/kg.
TW & AJ Bowen, Lolworth, Mitchell sold Droughtmaster cross heifers to 276c/kg, reaching a top of $1,401 to average $1,200. The Droughtmaster cross cows sold to 235c/kg, reaching a top of $1,390 to average $1,234.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 235c/kg and averaged 220c/kg, while cows in the 400-500kg class topped at 225c/kg and averaged 201c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold to 170c/kg and averaged 161c/kg.
RL & MJK Taylor, Wynrose, Wallumbilla sold Charolais cross cows to 230c/kg, reaching a top of $1,334 to average $1,000.
AF & MF Douglas, Springfield, Mitchell sold Droughtmaster cows to 226c/kg, reaching a top of $1,205 to average $1,126.
Bulls over 600kg earned to 276c/kg and averaged 244c/kg.
